The Story Behind Penny Finding
It all began one day in March of 2008…
I saw a penny on the ground but I was carrying a load of things and thought, "I'm not going to bother bending over and drop everything just to pick up a silly penny." For the next few days it bothered me, and I kept thinking of the story about the rich man who was being interviewed. He stopped to pick up a penny because it was a reminder that, "In God We Trust."
The next week I was frustrated and confused over the dream house my husband and I had been trying to build (for 3 years). We had some decisions we needed to make regarding that project. I saw a penny. This time I picked it up. "OK. From now on – In God We Trust. I need reassurances to know this is the right thing to do..." And, over the next few weeks, pennies kept appearing.
After a year, I continue to find coins. The mischievous Penny Angels have provided some very unusal finds, along with some valuable life lessons attached to those coins. My adventures are shared through the PennyTales blog. As I have shared these Penny Tales, other people have shared their experiences and are now catching the Penny Fever!
Penny Finding is a fun and joyful way to learn how to trust, discover, smile and share. It requires no experience, special equipment or additional time out of your day. It's good for the body and the soul.
